The Second Step - The Development Proposal

Initial Consultation

In the initial consultation, the desired features, goals, capabilities, complexity, target audience, and optimal hosting environment for the site were identified. Using these criteria as a guide, Fine Line then assembles a design proposal for the site. This design proposal is a sort of preliminary site design, giving a rough estimate the approximate number of pages on the site, the approximate web site development time and cost, and takes all of the initial site specifications into account.

At this point, there is usually some discussion between the developer and the client to refine the design proposal to meet cost, time, complexity, maintenance, or design considerations. Once a satisfactory project definition and cost agreement has been reached, then a formal job-specific web site design contract is drawn up, and signed by both parties. Work then begins on the actual web site design.
